Joanne Reilly has dealt with a lot of big changes lately. She’s sharing a room with a surprise half-sister, her parents are always fighting, her best friends aren’t speaking to her, and she’s falling for someone totally unexpected. All she wants is to be normal, but what does that even mean? Jo must learn to shed her insecurities, resentments, and preconceived notions, in order to be true to herself and find the people who really care about her.

Read Jo's side of the story in My Side of the Story.

Jo's side of the story was previously published in the novellas It Could Always Be Worse and It's All So Bittersweet.

Excerpt: The good thing about your mom and her best friend both having kids the same age is that you grow up with an automatic friend at every annual gathering. The bad thing is, if he starts dating your other friend and then she stops talking to you, your moms will still force you to see each other at these stupid annual gatherings. Rachel has barely spoken to me since that day in English class and now I have to spend an evening at her boyfriend’s house.
